Proprietor – Robby Ho
Visitors to Devon do not have to venture far from the M5 to sample excellent Chinese food.
Nestling on the main street of the small market town of Cullompton (Junction 28 of the M5) is a gem of a restaurant. Opened in 2003, the China Orchids is celebrating his 10 years anniversary; owned by Head Chef Robby Ho and offers the best in Cantonese, Peking and Szechuan cuisines.
Robby’s experience is vast and varied. Cooking Chinese food is a family way of life as his grandfather was a chef on a cruise ship and he started mastering the various techniques in his father’s restaurant in Plymouth before moving on to gain experience as a second chef in the Eastern Promise Chinese restaurant (good food guide award) in Cornwall.
In 1989, Robby went back to Hong Kong for a partnership in his friend’s company for 10 years before returned to England again in 1997.
Now master of his own kitchens, Robby serves up excellent Chinese food from the normal to the exotic in comfortable surroundings at the China Orchids. Whatever your taste, you will find Robby offers a wide choice of culinary delights for the discerning palette.
